Aperio Flow

Ask an organisation for your data, and know the deadline for a reply.

You have the right to ask any UK organisation for the personal data it holds about you, and to a reply within a set period. Most people never ask, because working out when a reply is actually due is harder than it sounds.

This works out the date. It takes about a minute, and it is free.

Work out your deadline

Nothing you type here is sent to us. The whole calculation runs in your browser.

For example, the day the organisation signed for your letter.

Was the clock stopped while they asked you for something?

Loading the calculator…

This works out a date. It does not tell you whether an organisation has done anything wrong, or what to do about it.

The part we have not built yet

Sending the request, catching the reply without forwarding anything, and drafting a complaint if the deadline passes quietly. That is the next stage, and we are checking whether enough people want it before we build it.

If you would use it, leave your email. You will get one confirmation email now and nothing else until there is something to show you.

Used to confirm your place and nothing else.

It works without an email too. The deadline calculator below is free and sends us nothing.

Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?
The calculator is free and needs no account. Asking an organisation for your data is free too: they cannot charge you for a normal request.
Why is the deadline not just a fixed number of days?
Because it is counted in calendar months, and it moves. An organisation can extend it once, and it stops while they wait for something reasonable from you, such as proof of identity. Those are the parts people get wrong, so the calculator handles them.
Do you keep my data?
Not from the calculator: it never leaves your browser. Your email is kept only until you confirm it, and you can leave the list from any email we send.
Is this legal advice?
No. It tells you what the law requires and where it says so. It cannot tell you what to do about a particular situation.
